We've equipped each of our motorhomes and campervans with a cordless vacuum cleaner. It's not a gimmick: in the mountains, a vehicle gets dirty quickly, and having a vacuum cleaner on board makes a real difference to your daily life during your trip.

What really makes a camper van dirty in the mountains

The gravel and sand from the parking lots, which get kicked up under your shoes every time you enter. The slush and mud in winter, when you come back in your ski boots. The dirt from the trails after a hike. The crumbs from breakfast eaten inside on rainy days. And pet hair, for those who travel with an animal.

In a space of a few square meters where you sleep, eat and store your equipment, all of this accumulates much faster than in a house.

Why cordless, and not a regular vacuum cleaner?

Because in a motorhome, the question is not about vacuuming, it's about being able to do it anywhere. On a rest area without electricity, on the side of a mountain pass, on the way back from a day of skiing: a battery-powered device works everywhere, without plugging in or extension cords.

In practice, five minutes at the end of the day is enough. You don't live in a vehicle that deteriorates over the course of your trip, and you don't have to do any major cleaning the day before you return.
